About The Sauna List

    The UK’s outdoor sauna edit.

The Sauna List is an independent guide to outdoor saunas across the UK, bringing together the best places to heat up, cool down and switch off. From wood-fired saunas on windswept beaches and lakeside cabins to city rooftops, woodland retreats and neighbourhood sauna spots, we make it easier to discover great sauna experiences wherever you are.

    Why The Sauna List exists

The UK sauna scene is booming. Across the country, independent operators are creating brilliant new ways to sauna. Beside the sea, in forests, on rivers, at swimming spots and increasingly in our towns and cities. But finding them isn't always easy. Some live on Instagram. Some are hidden inside larger venues. Others are known mainly through word of mouth. The Sauna List brings them together in one place. Search by location, explore different types of sauna and discover somewhere worth making the trip for.

    What you'll find

We focus on outdoor and experience-led sauna across the UK, including: - Wood-fired and electric saunas - Beachside and coastal saunas - Lakeside, lochside and riverside saunas - Woodland and countryside retreats - Urban and rooftop saunas - Floating and mobile saunas - Saunas with cold plunges and wild swimming - Communal sessions and private hire Each listing is designed to give you the useful stuff upfront. Where it is, what the experience is like, facilities, pricing, opening information and how to book.

    Curated, not crowded

The Sauna List isn't about listing every place with a hot room. We're interested in places where sauna is part of the experience. Independent operators. Interesting locations. Beautiful spaces. Great communities. Places we'd genuinely want to discover ourselves. Some are polished city escapes. Others are converted horseboxes parked beside the sea. That's rather the point.

How we build The Sauna List

Every venue on The Sauna List is independently researched using information from operators, their websites and other publicly available sources. We regularly review listings as the UK sauna scene evolves, and operators can contact us to update or correct their information. Where we've personally visited a sauna, you'll see it marked Visited. Being listed doesn't automatically mean a venue has been personally tested or endorsed by The Sauna List, and editorial recommendations are made independently. If you spot something that's changed, let us know. Keeping the list useful and accurate is part of the job.

Built for people who love a good sauna

The Sauna List started with a simple idea: there should be one beautifully curated place to discover the UK's growing outdoor sauna scene. Whether you're looking for a sauna after a sea swim, somewhere to spend a slow Sunday, a new local ritual or an excuse for a weekend away, we hope you find somewhere brilliant.

    For sauna operators

Running a sauna we should know about?

The Sauna List is built to celebrate the people and places shaping the UK sauna scene. If you’d like to add your sauna, update an existing listing or tell us about something new, we’d love to hear from you.
